-- I just sold an old Integrity Music CD on eBay for $31.00. I'm in shock. I think I paid $2 or $3 for it originally (bought it used). Hope it's all the buyer hopes for...I'm always nervous when such a profit is made.

-- Found out this evening that I did not place in the story contest I entered earlier this summer. Kind of disappointing, but the results said they received over 100 entries. So, understandable. Guess I shouldn't be discouraged...Sometimes I wonder, though, if I will ever have the determination to keep trying, as I know that's the only way writers get published.

-- Am reading Where the Lilies Bloom by Vera and Bill Cleaver. So far it's...interesting. Especially because the setting is in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, which I can see from my own front door.

-- I love Chris Tomlin's CD Not to Us. Ordered it kind of on a whim -- because I liked one song that I knew to be on it -- but ended up loving all of it. And it's been great to listen to and get focused on the Lord during this past week of trials.

-- My mom's two sisters and my cousin are staying with my grandparents (next door) this week, and today we went out with them to two historic house tours in town, then to a used bookstore. Fun!

-- Tomorrow afternoon, Michael and I are going to a 4th of July gathering by the lake with the college group. There is reputed to be waterskiing and kneeboarding, but yours truly will not be participating, I'm afraid. Safety is important to me and I know the kinds of ugly bruises and near-death experiences I would precipitate if I attempted either sport. I might be persuaded to try tubing (that is, the tied-to-a-motorboat variety, not floating down the river), though, and will be entertained enough to watch others.

-- Exhaustion is setting in. Goodnight.
