LJ is not e-mailing me all my comments, and hasn't been for several days now. So if I don't respond to something you said, that's why. (And if you have asked me a question elsewhere and I didn't answer, feel free to ask again here to make sure I see it!)

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming. :-)

One of my favorite teachers/pastors, Greg Laurie, just gave the invocation at the Republican National Convention tonight! His prayer was excellent...but it was interesting to watch the expressions of the people there as the camera panned around. Most were bowing their heads, but one woman stared ahead with narrowed eyes. Talk about hostile toward Christianity. Anyway, he managed to weave the gospel into his prayer and did not comprimise at all in mentioning sins, repentance, the sanctity of life, and so on. I knew he wouldn't water down anything, but it was awesome to hear Christ proclaimed from that podium. I'm sure a lot of the people there need to hear it, too.

So I'm off. Going to read for tomorrow's classes and watch more of the convention. [livejournal.com profile] melyndie, your governator is speaking tonight! ;-) I confess I'm more interested in hearing Laura Bush, but will probably listen to both if I have time. No piano practice tonight because it's a lesson day. (I did that last year and will keep it up to prevent practice burnout...and because today's lesson didn't go splendidly, just as I predicted, and sometimes it takes me a day to recover from such things. My teacher is still excellent, mind you! The problem lies with myself and my hideous slowness in the area of sight-reading. :-P But enough.)
