tired typings
May. 9th, 2007 08:11 pm(I decided that "typings" is a more apt word than "scribblings" to describe what I do on my laptop when I decide to post on LJ.)
I'm so out of the habit of blogging. I want to write but hardly know what to talk about. No, strike that: there's plenty to talk about, always. It never fails to be busy or interesting around here. But I don't know where to start. My life is as full or fuller than it was in college; it's just full of different things. And there aren't as many opportunities to procrastinate in this job as there were when I was a student, so that is probably the reason I'm not on here often. (That and the fact that our internet is so slow, and I only have access to it in the office.)
This morning we (Wittlingen staff) went to Freiburg to scout out movie theaters and restaurants for our dorm outing later this month. Every year, the dorm does something fun and relatively extravagant to commemorate the end of the year. This year it will be taking all the girls out to eat and then to a movie (most likely "Pirates 3," but possibly "Spider Man 3"). Unfortunately, I'm going to miss out on this event because it's my final weekend off and I'll be out of town. But...I'm not complaining because...I'm going to Paris! My friend Anoria (from church back in Tennessee) is in England for a study abroad program and she is taking the train to Paris to meet me there for the weekend. She came up with this idea over Christmas, so we've been talking about it for a long time. I'm excited...and a little nervous because this will be my first time traveling alone in Europe. Should be an adventure...
I'm really sleepy, which is why I'm using this icon. The last two nights I've burned the candle on both ends. But tomorrow morning is my sleep in morning so I should be able to catch up. That's a good thing, because tomorrow night is Staff Appreciation Dinner, and Friday night is JSB (Junior Senior Banquet -- which will last until 11pm), and then all day Saturday there are soccer games (hope the weather is okay).
Okay. I just realized it's 8:10pm and I haven't started doing lunch prep yet. I probably should get on that because I have to drive a van to pickup girls in about half an hour.
