prayer request

We just got a call from my uncle Steve, who said that Katie has a high fever (104) and is on the way to the doctor's. He thinks they'll check her into the hospital and put her on antibiotics (because of her bout with aplastic anemia, anything like this is potentially serious). So, please pray that God would intervene, her immune system will kick in, and she will get better quickly from this flu or whatever it is! Especially pray that this won't be a set-back in her tapering of treatment drugs. She's only on one medicine right now, and is to be totally off of it by October...Please pray with me that her blood cell counts will remain high enough to keep coming off the meds, and that she'll remain healthy!

Got another call from Uncle Steve; it seems that he mis-heard the temperature, and Katie was only 101 degrees rather than 104. (I'm sure he was as glad to be corrected as we were!) And the doctor sent Katie home, which is great. They did cultures to see whether this is bacterial or viral; they think it's the latter. She has a regular Clinic appointment in a few days, so they'll check up on her again then. Please continue to pray for a quick recovery and no adverse effects on her blood counts or medication tapering.
